Product Description

Supplemental phenylalanine aids in the creation of beneficial neurotransmitters (dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine). Clinical studies indicate that it might support mood enhancement.

Because phenylalanine is an essential amino acid, your body cannot make enough of it and must obtain it from outside sources. It is changed in the liver to L-tyrosine, which is then changed into the hormones dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine (adrenaline), which can become deficient for a number of causes. Norepinephrine replenishment can benefit brain health.

  • Supports production of L-tyrosine, which is used to make dopamine, norepinephrine & epinephrine
  • Helps promote healthy mood & sleep
  • Supports healthy cognitive function
  • Provides protection for brain cells

Take one (1) capsule daily on an empty stomach in the morning, or as recommended by a healthcare practitioner. Best utilized if taken with the co-factors vitamins B6 and C.

Noticeable Mood Lift Review by TroyAnthony M.
Rating
I started taking D,L-Phenylalanine about three weeks ago after researching amino acid support for mood. The difference has been noticeable — I feel more motivated during the day and my overall outlook has improved. The capsules are easy to swallow and I take one in the morning on an empty stomach as recommended. Good value for 100 capsules. (Posted on 4/19/2024)

A: L-phenylalanine is an essential amino acid that serves as a precursor to tyrosine, dopamine, and norepinephrine — neurotransmitters important for mood, motivation, and focus. D-phenylalanine helps slow the breakdown of endorphins and enkephalins, the body natural comfort molecules. The DL combination provides benefits from both forms.

A: Yes, by providing precursors to dopamine and norepinephrine, L-phenylalanine supports healthy neurotransmitter levels associated with positive mood and motivation. The D-form complements this by supporting endorphin levels. Many people use DLPA as part of a comprehensive mood support regimen.

A: People taking MAO inhibitor medications or those with phenylketonuria (PKU) should not take phenylalanine supplements. Additionally, those taking medications for mood disorders should consult their healthcare provider before use, as phenylalanine may interact with certain psychiatric medications.
